Sewing For Boys Pump Up Series: Couturier Mommy

We're starting week two of the Sewing For Boys Pump Up Series, off with a bang.  Please help me welcome, Eva Marie.  Eva is the queen of sewing tutorial videos.  If you are a sewing beginner or it's been a while, her blog is the place to visit.  She's got a whole page (I'm talking 24 videos) of sewing tutorials.  I can guarantee, I'll be making a visit or two over the course of the next year because along with my sewing clothes resolution, this is going to be the year I finally attempt an invisible zipper.  Eva has a great video tutorial today for the 1 in 2 Jacket from Sewing For Boys.  Take it away, Eva.

Helllo everyone. I am Eva Marie from Couturier Mommy and I am so very pleased to be visiting Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy! today.
I am a southern girl from Atlanta, Georgia (originally from the mountains of western NC) and a SAHM of two boys and two girls.
In my former career I was a fashion designer and a pattern maker. Now my job is much more challenging. I try to teach and entertain my kids all day everyday.
I also have the pleasure of using my talents and gifts to teach the art of sewing. Many of my students prefer to watch instead of read, so I videoed a lot of my posts. I promise if you give me the time I will teach you how to sew or make you more efficient at it. I also post mommy tips and ideas. Things that have made my life easier or more fun.

Join me today as we make our boys the 1 in 2 Jacket from the book Sewing for Boys

Side 1 has a simple welt pocket

Side 2 has a patch pocket!
It is a super cute jacket I think you will love.

Thank you so much, Eva for your advice on the welt pocket.  It is so nice to be able to see the sewing done, in process.  I think this makes the 1 in 2 Jacket a little less intimidating for those who have less sewing experience.  I'll be back to watch this again when I'm ready to make mine.

  1. This is so great!! This jacket is next on my list, in fact I already bought the fabric. Now I don't need to be nervous about the welt pockets!

  5. Eva Marie is incredible! I didn't ever think I could make a jacket... but if she says I can, I'm sure I'll be able to! This looks like it would even be a cute pea coat type jacket for a girl.
